Supporting Cast of Cuanto – Boardwalk Empire

Here are some of the actors who appeared in “Cuanto“, the fourth episode of Season 5 of Boardwalk Empire (9/28/2014).

The dead bodies continue to pile up. The two deaths in this episode were pretty easy to see coming. Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) told Sally Wheet (Patricia Arquette) to use her judgment when proceeding with the Bacardi deal in Cuba, but even though Sally kept sensing that things weren’t quite right, evidently she thought she could talk her way out of anything as long as she had her trusty Tangee Red Red lipstick around.

Rudy Mungaray played the Cuban Capitano who was not impressed with Sally’s lipstick, bribes or fluent Spanish. One of his men killed her after she delivered Nucky’s good faith money to Maxime Ronis.

Edward Carnevale as Cenzo

Edward Carnevale played Cenzo, the guy Al Capone (Stephen Graham) beat to death with the souvenir Empire State Building, a gift from Lucky Luciano. We really could have done without that bit of lunacy. However, Lucky Luciano and Capone did know each other since they were teenagers and members of the Five Points Gang in New York City.

Child actors, Oakes Fegley (young Eli) and Nolan Lyons (young Nucky) are remarkable talents, but we must say it was little Eli who stole the show in the flashback segments of “Cuanto”. It was unbearably cute when he confessed to hiding a nickel in his shoe and thought he was being kidnapped by the Sheriff.

Other notes:
We found out the full name of Nucky’s Cuban bodyguard: Arquimedes Cesar Plutarco Gavilan y Ortiz (portrayed by Paul Calderon)
The name of Sally Wheet’s bar “Rubia Sucia” means Dirty Blonde
Ned’s joke: Man says to the waiter
–“Now see here, I’ve found a button in my salad.”
–“Oh, that’s all right, sir. It’s part of the dressing.”
