Stephen Curry Scores 37 Points as Golden State Takes 3-2 Lead in NBA Finals

LeBron James had another monster game, scoring 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, but it was Stephen Curry who put this one out of reach as the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-91 in Oakland on June 14th. The victory gave the Warriors a 3-2 lead in the series, which returns to Cleveland for Game 6 on June 17th.

Curry had 37 points for Golden State. The regular season MVP gave it his all and had to be treated for dehydration after the game. The Warriors had five players score in double figures. Tristan Thompson had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Cleveland while J.R. Smith got off to a great start with 14 points in the first half. Smith, however, was shut down in the second half and did not score. There isn’t much more LeBron James can do, and the losses of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are being felt. Golden State is in a good position to win its first NBA championship since 1975.
