Secret Life: 4SnP Recap

4SnP, The May 28th episode of “Secret Life” was mainly a foray into gossip. Somehow the rumor that Anne was gay morphed into a rumor that Amy was gay, too, and the 4th of July was a gay holiday.

That whole thing could be summed up in one word: Ridiculous.

But if it wasn’t ridiculous enough for you, Adrian got jealous that Amy was the center of all this attention, albeit negative, and decided to usurp some of that attention by flirting with Grace, who did get a little bi-curious but literally freaked out when she and Adrian actually kissed and tried to get Daniel to sleep with her. When that didn’t work out, she enlisted Jack.

Ben was investigating into going to Dylan’s school. The cost? $32,000 a year. Leo wasn’t having that and told Ben he pays half his income in taxes and some of that tax money is for public school, so Ben can just finish out his last year in Grant High. Leo has no concept (yet, anyway) of the powers Dylan has over Ben. She convinces Ben to apply by charging the $1,200 application fee and keeping working on his daddy.

Betty, in the meantime, has carte blanche from Leo to decorate her dorm room in style. She speculates with her interior decorator over whether Leo will give in to Camille’s wishes to have another child since he gives her everything he wants. She also spreads the gay rumors about Anne and Amy.

Anne and Ashley returned from France near around the end of the episode. Ashley wanted to know whether Nora was still in her room and what Grant was doing over there all night. Anne let George know that she knows all about the gay rumors and that it started with him telling Kathleen.

By the time Amy decides to make a public announcement that she is not gay, her mother is not gay and the 4th of July isn’t a gay holiday, everyone is talking about Grace and Adrian and Daniel is letting Omar know that Adrian “cheated on him.” Uh, what was that they were talking about last week? A week’s commitment?
