Robert Pattinson Lament: Fame Sucks

According to Celebrity Gossip.net, right before the nuzzling news came out about Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders, Robert Pattinson was bemoaning the invasiveness of modern media and wishing he was a star in another era:

The 26-year-old “Twilight” superstar said, “I wish this (Twilight) had happened 12 years ago, before camera phones and website TMZ. Then it would have been amazing,” adding: “being a successful actor… if you just had the good side of fame it would have been unbelievable.”

He is then quoted as complaining that actors nowadays “are the most conservative people in the world because you can’t do anything. Literally… you can’t do anything at all. You can’t trust anyone because it all becomes part of your career.”

Seriously, Rob? Scandal is and has always been the name of the game whether there were cell phones or TMZ or not. The biggest difference nowadays is we’re more jaded and the career ruined by scandal is the exception, not counting Milli Vanilli, of course.

The latest news is that Pattinson will be appearing on Good Morning, America next week to promote his new film Cosmopolis.

All eyes will be on Rob, but not to hear what he has to say about the movie.

Chris Brown can attest to that.
