Robert Griffin III and Baylor Win in Wild Alamo Bowl

Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Robert Griffin III hasn’t said whether or not he’ll skip his senior season at Baylor, but if he does, his final college game was unforgettable. Baylor beat Washington 67-56 in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on December 29th, and while scores like this happen occasionally in overtime, this one was in regulation time. This was the highest scoring bowl game ever that did not go into overtime.
Griffin was good, but not spectacular, considering all the scoring by Baylor. He completed 24 of 33 passes for 295 yards and one touchdown; he also ran for one touchdown. Baylor actually did most of its damage on the ground, with three players rushing for over 100 yards each. Running back Terrance Gannaway rushed for 200 yards and five touchdowns to lead Baylor.
We’ll make a safe bet here that Griffin has played his last college game and he’ll next be seen on NFL draft day. And keep on eye on Ganaway, who is a senior. He raised his stock considerably this season, rushing for over 1500 yards after a lackluster career as underclassman. We don’t think this game helped the pro aspirations of players on either defense, however.
