Paris is a Friend of Cannabis Again

Paris Hilton’s two run-ins with the law in one month for having small amounts of marijuana on her has gotten her two more entries on her list on Famous Friends of Cannabis.

In the first incident on July 3, Paris was taken into custody in South Africa over some marijuana while Paris was attending the World Cup game between the Netherlands and Brazil. This turned out to be a small amount of marijuana and a complete misunderstanding when Paris’ friend said the stuff was hers. A fine was paid and they were off the hook.

Then a mere two weeks later, on the 17th, Paris landed at Figari airport on the French island of Corsica. The customs sniffer dogs took a particular interest in Paris’ luggage because they are trained to detect ‘les drogues’ even if they are in the purse of a jet-setting heiress.

Officers found less than a gram of the drug in her handbag. Corse Matin, Corsica’s morning newspaper, reported “la quantité d’herbe retrouvée sur elle était “plutôt faible” officiellement, moins d’un gramme ….” (The amount of grass found on her was pretty small, less than a gram, and less than 90 minutes later, Mademoiselle Hilton was out the door.

One French blog, Pure People.com, remarked gleefully that this was much better treatment than some French folks have encountered in the USA, but said they weren’t naming names — “You know who you are.”

Paris later tweeted “Just to put an end to these rumors. The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false! I am having the best vacation of my life! What an amazing summer! I feel so blessed and grateful for everything. I Love Life!! :) Now let’s move on and everyone focus and enjoy their own summer time! Love you guys! Xo Paris” She later posted pictures of the yacht she went on and of herself enjoying the Mediterranean waters.
