Simon Cowell explained to LA Fox why “American Idol” contestant Paige Miles didn’t get the ‘save’ after being voted off Idol even though she performed a great farewell vocal on Wednesday, March 24th. Cowell thought that Paige was able to sing well because the pressure was off.
“It was all in her head,” he said.
But is that fair? Paige did have laryngitis problems. You’d think they’d give her a break for that. But seems like the judges felt that it was the pressures of the show that were messing her up more than a froggy throat. Or, they are saving the “Save” for Kara’s favorite, Casey James, in case he screws up because they want him in the top 5 .
“Regardless of your singing, you’re going to end up going home tonight,” Simon told Paige on the show, “It’s got to a point where it’s not working. I don’t want to give you any false hope here. It’s the end.”
Paige told the press that after the show went off the air, “they were all going nuts at the [judges'] table.” She said: “They thought it was a fantastic performance,” she said. “They thought I did a great job.”
So what’s with the douchey on-air remark from Simon “regardless of your singing”?
