Oprah Talks to Rihanna About Chris Brown Assault

Many years ago when Oprah was on national TV, she said that she wasn’t going to have any more shows with domestic violence victims. She did however do a 2-part show in 2007 featuring domestic violence victim Susan Stills and her children. Then in 2009, she and Tyra Banks teamed up after Barbadian songbird Rihanna was beaten by her then boyfriend, Chris Brown in what began as an argument. Oprah and Tyra wanted to talk about the incident as a “huge teachable moment” to educate teens that “love doesn’t hurt.”

Apparently, the huge teacher didn’t know all she needed to know about the incident because in promo clips for her upcoming special interview with Rihanna, Oprah again brings up the notorious Chris Brown incident.

A tearful Rihanna says: “It was embarrassing,” Rihanna said. “It was humiliating. I lost my best friend. I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark.”

Chris Brown has had some pretty famous tantrums about the continuous reemergence of this topic, but this time, he may just ignore it. Last week, he was the topic of a twitter rumor campaign that claimed he is gay after a photograph purporting to show him having sex with two men went viral.
