Mike Trout Has Big Game Against Yankees

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout showed again why he is perhaps the best all around baseball player in the majors with his performance against the New York Yankees in the Angels’ 4-1 victory on June 29th in Anaheim.

Trout had a home run, a stolen base, and three great catches in the outfield, which were crucial since New York pitching held the Angels to just six hits.

Trout and a revitalized Albert Pujols are putting quite a bit of offense into the third and fourth slots in the Angel’s batting order. Trout’s homer was his 20th of the season, putting him second in the American League behind Pujols, who has 23. Trout has a slugging percentage of .583, second in the A.L., and Pujols is tied for third at .552. Los Angeles has slowly been gaining ground on the first place Houston Astros and are in second place, four games out of first.

Great article, but I still cringe at the nasty designation “Los Angeles “. To me, it sounds about as good as the Milwaukee Packers.
