First Lady Laura Bush has confirmed that she will be publishing a book which is just in the planning stages. We had recently read that President Bush wants to write a book, too, but the latest info now is that publishers are advising George Bush to wait a while, and are more eager to publish Laura’s book first.
Mrs. Bush has indicated that she will by no means be writing any exposes, and plans to keep criticism to a minimum. She has already written a children’s book, co-authored with her daughter, Jenna, Read All About It!.
A book by Laura Bush would probably be very successful when you consider the success of American Wife: A Novel, by Curtis Sittenfield, loosely based upon the Bushes. Readers will undoubtedly get a much truer perception of the current first lady from her upcoming book, even if she doesn’t get pissy about all the disrespect towards her hubby during his administration.
In the meantime, Mrs. Bush will be hosting a History Channel special on Wednesday, November 26th, at 9:00 p.m., The White House Behind Closed Door, that promises to be very interesting given the length of time George and Laura Bush have resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
