Kevin Durant Will Miss 6 to 8 Weeks With Foot Injury

With the NBA season just a couple of weeks away, the Oklahoma City Thunder received some very unwelcome news. Kevin Durant, the 2013-14 NBA Most Valuable Player, will miss 6 to 8 weeks with a fracture at the base of his small toe in his right foot. The injury is basically a type of stress fracture that occurred over time and is not due to any specific incident. Durant averaged 32 points a 7.4 rebounds per game last season.

That would make sense, as Durant is an ironman, missing only 16 games in his first seven NBA seasons. Under a best case scenario, Durant would be back sometime in the first half of December. The Thunder open the season October 29th at Portland. Here’s a look at Durant in action last year:
