Kelly Clarkson’s Ron Paul Tweet Brings Out the Haters

John McCain had Snooki and now Ron Paul’s got Kelly Clarkson…

Kelly Clarkson may have alienated some of her fans when the “Since You’ve Been Gone” songbird tweeted a pro-Ron Paul (R-Texas) tweet late Wednesday, but it also brought out lots of haters and wags.

“I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

There have been 235 comments on WhoSay.com to that tweet as of this post. One (from AaronBBrown) says:

“It easy to understand Ron Paul’s appeal for people who are NOT black, Hispanic, gay, Jewish etc. If you’re young white, naïve with only a superficial understanding of politics, history and economics, yeah Ron Paul probably does appeal to you, if you buy that BS that comes out of his mouth. If you want us to understand who Ron Paul really is, just take a look at his son Rand Paul. The rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the rotten tree.”

But the reaction on twitter left Ms. Clarkson asking folks who couldn’t be civil to unfollow her and apologizing if she offended anyone:

“I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all of the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.”
