Joaquin Phoenix: Hangs Out ‘Gone Singing’ Sign

Actor Joaquin Phoenix has announced his decision to retire from acting at age 34 and to concentrate on singing. When Joaquin was a child, he used the name “Leaf” to be more like his siblings, River, Rain and Summer.

Joaquin is a Spanish name. It is a variant of the name Joachim which means “God has granted”

Joaquin pretty much has a monopoly on the name in the entertainment biz in the USA –not so much in Spanish-speaking countries.

So whaddya think? Will he make a better singer than an actor?
