In one of the marquee matchups in this year’s ACC/Big Ten Showdown, forward Jared Sullinger scored 21 points and three other Buckeyes scored in double figures as #2 Ohio State beat #4 Duke in impressive fashion 85-63 November 29th in Columbus. “Sometimes you just get your butt kicked” quipped Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.
If there was any doubt, Ohio State served notice that they are one of the premier college basketball teams in the country. The Buckeyes are strong top to bottom, and are led by Sullinger, who is following up his great freshman year with an impressive start to his sophomore season. He’s averaging 19.1 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game through the Buckeyes’ first seven games. Ohio State fans can look forward to a likely number one seed in the NCAA basketball tournament again this year. It’s almost enough to make Buckeye fans forget about the football season. Well, almost.
