Hilary Duff’s Husband Mike Comrie Retires from Hockey

Center Mike Comrie, who played with six NHL teams over his ten year career, called it quits on February 13th, two weeks after his third hip operation in five years. When he was healthy, Comrie played well, scoring 60 points in the 2001-2 and 2005-6 seasons. But injuries took a toll on him, and he hasn’t played a full season since the 2007-8 campaign. He appeared in just 21 games last year with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and had not played at all this season.
In recent years, Comrie has been better known as the husband of singer/actress Hilary Duff. The two were married in August of 2010 and are expecting their first child in March. (As we have stated before, you may see the term ‘baby bump’ elsewhere on Fikkle Fame, but we on the Sport Team refuse to use it. There are some things we simply will not do).
“2day we are enjoying all the great memories mike had while playing in the NHL! now we have a big addition coming to our family!” Hilary tweeted.
