Herman Cain bowed out of the GOP presidential race on Saturday:
“As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul-searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign,” Cain told an Atlanta audience, “Because of the continued distractions, the continued hurt caused on me and my family, not because we are not fighters. Not because I’m not a fighter.”
By “suspending” his campaign, Cain will still be able to accept political contributions. But will he get any so he can proceed to “Plan B” — to travel the country promoting his tax and foreign policy plans?
Well, he still has his supporters and he still maintains that the sexual harassment allegations made against him are as false as the 13-year affair claim made by Ginger White. “I’m at peace with my God,” he said. “I’m at peace with my wife, and she is at peace with me.”
It’s probably not the last we’ll hear of him, but at least as far as running for office, he’s as done as the barbecue they were eating at the rally.
