Golden State Sweeps Utah to Advance to NBA Western Conference Finals

On May 8th, Golden State matched Cleveland by sweeping its second round opponent to advance to the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors blew out the Utah Jazz 121-95 to win the series; like Cleveland, Golden State also swept its first round opponent, the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry with 30 points, and Draymond Green had a triple double with 17 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. Kevin Durant chipped in 18 points. The addition of Durant was thought to make the Warriors almost unbeatable, and while that didn’t happen, the team is playing at its highest level of the season at just the right time. Durant scored 38 points in Game 3.

We still have the conference finals to play, but at this point it’s looking more and more likely that we will have Round 3 of the Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Both teams are playing red hot basketball.
