Last Chance to Vote!
You may have seen a commercial telling you where to go to vote for the new band for those catchy Free Credit Report dot com commercials that everybody either loves or hates. But you may not have had a pen handy and who remembers those internet urls they spout off on TV 5 seconds after they hear them?
Well, there’s only one day left to vote so if you care who replaces that little French Canadian dude, Eric Violette, who was never singing any of those commercials in the first place, now’s your chance.
Of course, there are beaucoup submissions, so you probably won’t even get past page 1, but here’s the place to go anyway: Vote for freecreditreportband.com.
Eric Violette barely speaks English and when he does, it is in a heavily accented French Canadian voice that doesn’t sound a bit like the voice in the pirate-themed restaurant, used car, Renaissance Fair or any other Free Credit Report commercial.
In spite of the fact that “ericzetiger” has had several youtubes online the whole time those commercials were airing, showcasing his own speaking voice, some people have continued to insist that the songs were prerecorded with his voice. (I think we can safely call him “ericzetiger” because the youtube is up under that name and the other guy’s name is Olivier. If ze tiger was Olivier, it would say olivierzetiger, n’est-ce pas?
The real voice of the Free Credit Report dot Com commercials belongs to commercial jingle writer, Dave Mulhefeld of The Martin Agency. The Martin Agency is also behind the Geico Caveman commercials.
