In the last week of Season 31, we got 2 triple solves and one triple stumper. Last week, we had the same champ every day. This week, we had the exact opposite: a new champ every day. On Monday, 5x champ Scott Lord was defeated by Suzanne Vito. She lost on Tuesday to Jonathan Marcus. Colby Potter won by default on Wednesday on the day no one knew FJ and everyone bet way too much. At least Colby got second place on Thursday when Andy King prevailed. On Friday, Tara Anderson won Friday’s game but we won’t be seeing her again until September 14th, when Season 32 begins.

Jeopardy Champs: Week of 7-27-15

Here is the “Old TV Shows by Episode” category from Friday’s game. The first clue probably was really funny since Alex was suffering from a cold all week and his voice was hoarse. But he rerecorded the clues so it really was a “you had to be there” moment.

Note from VJ ~ I haven’t really figured out how I’m going to handle things over the break. Maybe I will put up Spoiler Talk with a link to the match that is being shown if the NYT publishes a clue from the game so I know what it is. We’ll see. A big thank you to all our visitors and commenters with special thanks to everyone who helped keep the recaps accurate when I messed up. :):)

  1. Robert Anderson says:

Why no coverage of the Tournament of champions? Bet Arthur wins.

    • VJ says:

Because these are re-runs, Robert, and I already covered them both in daily and weekly recaps last November. If you look at the top of the right column, there’s a link to the recap of the game that was shown today in Spoiler Talk (Tues). Tomorrow (Wed) will come to the top of that list.

  2. Cece says:

OMG, I had forgotten about that! That’s when that kid ended in the red and couldn’t play FJ, right?

I’m with you, Idk why J! would want to open another can of worms — once that particular episode of Kids Week airs again, man, it’s gonna be on! (Social media & the like)

BTW, what did you put up during the break last year?

    • VJ says:

Yeah, the kid ran off crying but viewers didn’t even know about it till the hackers got in the picture.

I put up a link to the rerun recap everyday and a series of Oscar-winning films with Jeopardy questions from each year. Here’s one list

I like the idea of putting the spoiler talk up with a link to the recap with a triple stumper from that game or some clue that interested me at the time but didn’t make it into the recap.

But right now I’m not thinking about it much. I have had a bad cold since Friday. Must’ve caught it from watching Alex. LOL.

      • Cece says:

I like the spoiler talk idea too. 🙂

I’m sorry you have a cold; hope you feel better soon. (Did you catch his hoarse/sexy voice too?):):)

        • VJ says:

Really I feel like I can hardly talk. My daughter called me earlier and said she couldn’t even hear me. It turned out I had the phone upside down. ha ha ha.

        • Cece says:

          You dork, LOL!

Anyway, I was reading your post and glanced at the TV and got a glimpse of Valerie Harper’s face leaving the screen. I was like, omg, she died! But nope, I just googled her.

        • VJ says:

LOL about the phone. also I meant to tell you that my daughter bought Julie an ice cream onesie. Julie is the reigning Emperor of Ice Cream because she laughs every time you sing that to her.

        • Cece says:

Awww, I can just picture her— there’s nothing cuter than a baby laughter. She already has good taste and a sense of humor — that’s a fun song.

  3. Cece says:

Thank you, VJ for all your hard work and indulging us in our geeky pas-time.
(By the way, oops…”In the last game”, I think you meant “week”?)

Season 31 was not as exciting as the last one. On S30 we had 2 serial winners: Julia and a self-proclaimed mad genius (AChu), the BofD, and a Teen Tourney with a great Season Finale: a tie-breaker as the icing on the cake.

The only “memorable” things I can think of this season was the answer to FJ Kinky Boots and, most recently, Jennifer The Dancing Queen. Oh, and like you mentioned yesterday, VJ, quite a few doozies. So much for excitement.

    @Eric — I miss your witty commentary.

    • VJ says:

your welcome, Cece, and thank you for all your help.

Remember the Sony hack connection to Jeopardy? Have to say, I’m a little surprised they are re-running Kids Week because some hacked emails had to do with that!
