My comments were not suggesting anything other than what Julia stated on her Twitter Feed. The media has printed for decades that Alex helps with some of the clues which is why he is so quick on the responses regardless of who the contestants have been. Even Merv Griffin, years before his death, in tv interviews stated that Alex was sharp and was more involved with the show than Art Fleming had been when he hosted Jeopardy. Merv spoke highly of Alex’s intellect on the various categories on the show whereas Art saw himself as merely the host.

No one who has watched the show since the days of Art Fleming cannot deny that Alex has been on the show for 30 consecutive years because he is sharp and highly intelligent as well as involved. This guy is the “real deal.”

When Art Fleming hosted the show it was touch and go. There was uncertainty surrounding the continuation of the show back then. When Alex came on board the ratings shot through the roof and have been high ever since. The success of Jeopardy is directly attributable to Alex and I am sticking by my words. Go Alex go!!

A man does not carry a show for 30 years being disengaged and uninvolved. It is clear that Alex’s heart and soul is in Jeopardy. I dread to see what happens to the show when he retires unless Ken Jennings replaces him.

Oddly, I was just thinking today that they should transition Brad Rutter in. He is reasonably animated, obviously bright, and has hosted quiz bowls (although I think they were from local high schools).

Are any of you suggesting that Julia & Alex are in cahoots? She is winning fair & square. She is a brilliant player with great reflexes.

What are you talking about? At the end of the show Alex Trebek talks to the 3 contestants. Julia was merely tweetng what Alex discussed with the three contestants. She is known for tweeting live when the show is being aired. What person as smart Julia would write about something if it was not ethical?

You’re fishing in the wrong water my friend.

Nice link to CofD. Thanks, vj. You are quick.

Julia mentions on her Twitter feed that Alex Trebek told her after the show that aired Friday 30 May 2014 he suggested to the writers to add southern states to the Final Jeopardy clue. I had heard that Alex got involved in writing some of the clues. This proves that the rumor be true.

Nice. Thank you. I don’t think Julia would’ve gotten the last one without the monopoly helper.
And, need I say it, five no-brainers. Haha. All easy when you know them.
