THE FRIDAY SHOW CRIES OUT FOR A DO-OVER.

It seems they changed some staff members at j. i can NOT remember so many mishaps ever before. this all started already before the summer break. the tournament of the decades: it seemed that even j did not know what would be on the air and when. normally they would explain the format and give a schedule, and the last two weeks had very shaky stuff in it, culminating in friday’s fj, where CLEARLY the team was asked for and not the logo (plant).

charles is and should be the winner by rule. had they dinged jennifer for the wrong answer, charles would have had the most money left.

if they don’t do anything about this, at least address the issue and apologize plus bring charles back, j will drop several grades as far as fairness and quality are concerned, at least in my opinion.

    • VJ says:

I’d guess the problem with a possible do-over would be that Charles read the question the same way as Jennifer did. He thought they were asking for the plant, too.

      • jacobska says:

True. I found it odd not one contestant named an NFL team. Weird!

      • john blahuta says:

he did. but still jennifer’s answer was wrong too, since they asked for the TEAM. she should not have been credited with a correct answer. AFTER the replies and judgements were revealed, alex said “we would have accepted either one”. had he said it BEFORE, then jennifer’s reply should stand as judged.
either way, the whole thing – and not just friday – left/created a bad taste as far as i am concerned and what is especially missing are clarity and consistency.you can’t simply justify any outcome with rules you reveal when the game is OVER. if one were so inclined s/he could make a case for the game being “fixed”, and not just the latest one.

      • VJ says:

I agree that Alex should have said they would accept the team or the plant first and I agree that more weird things have cropped up recently, close together, than any other time I can recall.

I do remember that they made a pretty far out mistake in FJ back in June of 2012 — It was about Bible Events where they got Pentecost mixed up with the Last Supper.

        • john blahuta says:

well, once in awhile is ok. nobody is perfect. but as you so correctly pointed out, it is rather the rule than the exception lately for j to make DECISIVE mistakes. it’s a deluge, so to speak.

      • darrell says:

Doesn’t matter. Her answer was wrong, so was here, that’s how it should be decided, not that they are both idiots and didn’t read the question right.
