Final Jeopardy: Classic Children’s Literature (7-4-17)

Today’s Final Jeopardy question (7/4/2017) in the category “Classic Children’s Literature” was:

A 2016 biography of a children’s author is titled “In the Great Green Room”, a line from this classic book

2x champ Jon Eisenman has now won $45,100. In Game 3, his challengers are: Robert D’Emilio, from Ridgewood, NY; and Jacob Farrell, from Washington, D.C.

Round 1 Categories: Chapter 13 – College Sports – “F” Words – Casino Royale – On July 4th – The Red, White & Blue

In a bit of déjà vu, Jon found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Casino Royale” under the $600 clue on the 1st pick of the round. He even bet $600 again, just like yesterday, and he was RIGHT, once he remembered to phrase his answer in the form of a question.

WHAT IS “GOODNIGHT MOON”?

Margaret Wise Brown published “Goodnight Moon” in 1947, the tale of a little bunny saying “good night” to everything inside and outside of “the great green room.” That became the title of a biography of Brown, published by Amy Gary in January 2017, and subtitled: “The Brilliant and Bold Life of Margaret Wise Brown.” Gary’s biography drew upon Brown’s published works, as well as unpublished manuscripts and songs she discovered in 1990, to present an in-depth look at the life of the woman who wrote one of the best-loved bedtime stories of all time.

Jacob wrote down “Eloise at the Plaza.” He lost his $2,000 bet and finished with $1,500.

Robert came up with “The Velveteen Rabbit.” He lost $801, leaving him with $5,399.

Jon just had a smiley face. It cost him a mere $400. His $19,200 win today brought him up to a 3-day total of $64,300.

This was supposed to be the easiest final jeopardy because my parents read goodnight moon to me when I was little. I hope you read this to your grandkids when they were just infants, VJ? This is a childhood favorite.

      Me too!

@Lou, it looked to me like Robert realized the correct story right when the music ended. Yeah, that story is a classic, but it’s really short. Your mom was lucky she could get you to go to sleep in 3 minutes. LOL!
