WHAT IS A JELLYFISH?

The National Ocean Service says that the Australian box jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) is the most venomous marine animal, having “tentacles covered in biological booby traps known as nematocysts – tiny darts loaded with poison. People and animals unfortunate enough to be injected with this poison may experience paralysis, cardiac arrest, and even death, all within a few minutes of being stung.” They reassuringly point out that only a few of the 50 something box jellyfish species have venom that can be lethal to humans. Apparently, your chances of running into the most deadly are slim if you stay out of the waters in the Indo-Pacific region and northern Australia.

Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish , VJ? Because along with sea wasps and sea anemones those stings are lethal. Also I’m starting to see a pattern here since after Ellen Corrigan won her 3 games, she was defeated by Pranjal. This time Gavin lost to Deborah, so it’s possible we could see a streak of wins from her just like Jon Eisenman

    • VJ says:

Nope, I’ve never been stung by a jellyfish. Not even a bee. I used to be terrified of bees and carry on like a big baby if one came around till someone told me if I would just hold still and not make a big commotion, the bee wouldn’t bother me.

Yes, Deborah played very confidently today but no one can say Gavin was a pushover. He was right up there till the bitter end without any DD help. With that FJ clue, it was pretty much a given that the leader would win the game.
