TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS SAINT PAUL (MN)?

In 1837, Minnesota’s future capital city sprang up when “the whiskey bottles were uncorked in Pig’s Eye Pandemonium, and the wild little town that would become the city of Saint Paul was accidentally born. Since the town had not actually been planned, no one bothered to name it. But [tavern-keeper] Pierre Parrant was very infamous… and the town soon became known as “Pig’s Eye Landing.” A few years later, Father Lucien Galtier came to town to build its first church…. And so the town was renamed in honor of a more respectable establishment, Father Galtier’s church, Saint Paul the Apostle. James Goodhue, Saint Paul’s first newspaper editor, declared: “Pig’s Eye, converted thou shalt be like Saul; Arise and henceforth, St. Paul.” Perhaps Mr. Goodhue was relieved he didn’t have to name his newspaper the Pig’s Eye Pioneer Press. Hunter also got it right. His $10,601 bet gave him a winning total of $24,801 and made him the new Jeopardy! champ.

Nice haul by Hunter. Did he hunt for the 2 DD’s he got?

      • VJ says:

I would say no. The first one was in the $400 row in the first round and he got it right after the first clue he answered. Nobody hunts for DDs in the $400 row. LOL!

Both of the DDs in the second round were in the last 5 clues.
