WHAT IS “WAR HORSE”?

A children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo, “War Horse” is recommended for grades 5-8. It tells the story of Joey, a horse that was sold to the Army in World War I, and his previous owner, Albert. “War Horse” was published in 1982 in the UK, and was adapted to the stage by Nick Stafford in 2007. It was then made into a 2011 film, directed by Steven Spielberg.

Stephanie wrote down Seabiscuit. She lost her $4,000 bet and finished with $4,800.

Cody came up with Equus. He lost $3,600 and had $6,800 left.

David got it right. He only bet $400, so his final score was $10,800. Wow! He would have won with that bet even if he didn’t get it right.

Does anybody know the website that shows the whole daily Jeopardy board? I stumbled on it a while ago but haven’t been able to find t again. All I can remember is the board has a black background? Thanks for any help.

    • McFeisty says:

I check j-archive.com regularly, but it doesn’t have a black background. May suit your needs, however.

      • Becci Boyd says:

That’s it. I thought the background was black? Thanks very much all of you. Although I can’t figure out why I didn’t find it when I googled?

        • VJ says:

well, the background is dark blue so I guess in your memory, you remembered it as black.

    • VJ says:

@Becci — Do you mean J-Archive? On here, there’s always a link to it on the Hometown Howdies post. Here’s one to get you there now.

  4. VJ says:

On that $2K Composers clue, they also had a $2K clue about Cosima last month. It’s in the stumpers on the 4-3-17 recap. The category was Liszt — she was one of his daughters.

I liked that “Literary Instruction” DD, even though I missed it. That would have made a good FJ.

    • VJ says:

I agree that it would have made a good FJ, Myron. I messed up and gave the book title! Glad that didn’t happen to Stephanie

  6. Richard Corliss says:

I hope all girls will be next Thursday and Friday.
