WHO IS BEATRIX POTTER?

Written just before the outbreak of the First World War, Beatrix Potter’s “24th Tale” was discovered by Jo Hanks, a Penguin Random House Children’s Books publisher, in the Victoria & Albert Museum archives. It did not come with any illustrations by its author, so Quentin Blake was invited to illustrate the story, which features an appearance by a much older version of Potter’s most beloved character, Peter Rabbit. Todd got it right. He bet it all and finished with $2,000.

Annie also got it. She added $4,400 to her runaway, winning the match with an even $20,000, and she is the new Jeopardy! champ.

There was a difference between the CotD shown online this morning and the one shown on the show– the title had quotes around it on the show.

    Annie was just incredible today!

VJ, the difference is because the hard copy of the NYT allocates such small space to the CotD. The CotD online is the same copy that goes into the newsstand edition. It’s normally in the “Arts” section and difficult to find. It’s so tiny.

How about Annie? She appeared nervous today. Which means tomorrow when she settles down she might really be a force to be reckoned with. We shall see, but, she is really smart imo.

@Jacob, Well, quotes is only 2 more characters and even adding that, this one has less characters than yesterday’s clue. The only reason I was specifically looking for it is when I typed the clue, I put the quotes in myself because almost all of her titles begin with “The Tale of” — then when I looked back at the CotD again, I noticed that there were none.

I didn’t notice Annie looking nervous myself. I was just astounded at her buzzer speed!
