WHAT IS QATAR?

Mark wrote down Singapore and crossed that out, then he had some gobbledygook that he said was the beginning of UAE. He was consoled by Alex’ revelation that both were wrong. He lost his $1,400 bet and finished with $9,000.

Frank wrote down Bahrain. That cost him $6,801 and he finished with $7,199.

Phoebe wrote down Singapore so she already knew her ship was sunk. She lost $15,000 and finished with $2,100.

That made Mark the winner for this match. He will join Tom Nosek (doesn’t look like they’re explaining or reversing that one), Chuck Forrest and Leszek Pawlowicz in the semi-finals.

mark was obviously hoping for a triple stumper and that frank and phoebe would guard against each other. though frank guarded against mark, the treble did it.
the last shall be first….i am surprised that nobody got it. mark was at least in the area. singapore is an island, not a peninsula. it is south of the malay peninsula, separated by the strait of johor, to the south of singapore is indonesia, separated by the singapore strait. barely an island, but an island nonetheless.
funny though: i asked 7 friends, 6 of them thought singapore is a peninsula, attached to the malay(sian) peninsula. if i hadn’t been there, i would also have guessed peninsula…
