Today’s contestants are Ziad Ali a freshman at North Carolina State University; Noah Cowan, a freshman at Brown University; and Niki Peters, a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley.

Niki found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Stately Literature” under the $800 clue on the first pick after the chat. She was in the lead with $3,800, $1,200 more than Noah in second place. She bet $1,800 and she was RIGHT.

Niki finished in the lead with $8,200. Noah was second with $5,000 and Ziad was last with $1,600.
Round 2 Categories: Pop Culture Websites – World Art – It’s a Living – Letter Perfect – Nonfiction – Florida & Fauna
Ziad found the first Daily Double in “Nonfiction” under the $800 clue on the very first pick of the round. The scores were the same as above. He bet the $2,000 allowance and he was RIGHT.

Noah found the last Daily Double in “Letter Perfect” under the $1,200 clue with 7 clues remaining after it. He was in third place with $7,000 now, $14,000 less than Niki’s lead. He bet $6,000 and he was RIGHT.

Niki finished in the lead with $21,400. Noah was next with $15,000 and Ziad was in third place with $10,800.

Ziad got it right. He boldly bet it all and finished with $21,600, a great position to be in at this point.
Noah thought it was Coolidge. That cost him $2,000 and left him with $13,000.
Niki also got it right. Her $3,000 bet brought her up to $24,400 and gave her the last semi-finalist spot.
Here are the semi-finalists and Wild Card spots. There was no tie-breaker for the 3 Wild Card candidates who scored $14,400. They were determined in the manner mentioned in yesterday’s recap: Hannah Norem had a higher score at the end of Double Jeopardy! than Kate Laubscher and Michael Sieja. Kate and Michael were tied at the end of Double Jeopardy! so they went back to their scores at the end of the Jeopardy! round and that eliminated Michael.

I was confused about all three tied and finished with $14,400, but only Hannah and Kate made it. I have never seen the deal. They have the semi-final matchups already. My predictions for the winners of the games are for Monday, Gus Whoythaler, for Tuesday, Sam Deutsch, and for Wednesday, Kate Laubscher.
I hope Gus the fastest guy doesn’t win.
They have the match-ups on Jeopardy.com already. They put Nikki and Gus in the first match!
Why would they do that?! They matched 3 winners on Monday and 3 WC’s on Wednesday!

That’s the way they put them.
There are three main reasons of which I can think. The first is a guarantee of a Stanford-Cal match-up (which looked quite possible anyway), the second is the inclusion of the three best schools, and lastly, the third involves an analysis of ratings.

Even though Ford said “not an inaugural address” does that really change the nature of his speech. It seems like it was him giving an address after his inauguration into the office of president. Additionally it seems as though most books of inaugural addresses include Gerald Ford’s speech as an “inaugural address.”

If you click on the link to the Inaugural Facts and Firsts in the recap, one of the items you will see is that Coolidge had the first inaugural ceremony broadcast nationally by radio in 1925

I would say that Kevin Brown from Tuesday’s game probably feels Noah’s pain more than Michael Sieja. Failing to cover Kate’s wager cost Kevin a Wild Card spot in that match, and yeah, a zero wager by Noah would have done the trick.
Yeah, too bad for Noah, specially after his gutsy wager on the DD, and getting it right too.
