TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right. (Richard III was accepted)

WHO IS RICHARD, DUKE OF GLOUCESTER?

In Act 5, Scene 6 of Henry VI, Part 3, Gloucester pays King Henry a visit in the Tower. After the King tells him what a cursed day it was when Gloucester was born, he stabs King Henry, and proceeds to expound upon his deformities. He was born with teeth to signify that he “should snarl and bite and play the dog.” That part starts around 0:48 in the video, and the lines in the clue are right after it. Gloucester later became King. Shakespeare continued the story in his play, “Richard III,” but in this one, he was listed in the dramatis personae as “Richard, afterwards Duke of Gloucester.” Sometimes it’s spelled “Gloster.”

Viraj thought it was Iago. He lost his $2,718 bet and finished with $8,482.

Gary got it right with Richard III. He bet a big $12,345, bringing him up to $24,945.

Lilly had Richard III, too. She bet $4,000 so her score for today was $20,400.

Viraj almost certainly would or at least should have known the American History DD if he got it, as his college is named for Leland Stanford, who was president of Southern and Union Pacific Railroads in the 1860s. The golden spike from that railroad is at Stanford U., as per a 1995 FInal J! clue

Iago is from the play Othello but not a bad guess. Gary played brilliantly but I hope Lilly can catch up to him tomorrow to determine the winner. Good luck to these guys tomorrow

Looks like it’s going to be super-competitive tomorrow. Good for Lilly catching up and finishing in the lead, but good for Gary that his big bet in FJ worked out. Tough break for Viraj though.

IDK, VJ, but remember, whenever contestants bounce on the board it’s gonna make it really tough for their opponents to catch up to them. Remember that from now on. 3(

But a good wager by Viraj though. He stayed in it with a small bet on a weak (for him) category.
Gary just followed the example of Ben I
