Fantasia Barrino Suicide Attempt Coverage

We ordinarily don’t report on Nancy Grace because it’s too much of a challenge to watch Nancy’s show. Listening to her on a commercial is bad enough. “Every day — we want justice.” LOL!

So we don’t know what Nancy had to say about Fantasia Barrino after the aspirin overdose, but we did listen to Jane Velez-Mitchell (the wannabe Nancy Grace – just as awful to listen to, without the pit bull attitude of Ms. Grace). JVM had a panel to discuss the ‘harrowing’ and ‘dramatic’ 911 phone call.

Mike Walters, Assignment Manager for TMZ, weighed in on how the release of the 911 tape solves the mystery of whether the ingestion of a bottle of aspirin and sleeping aids was accidental. Her manager said on the 911 call that Fantasia took a bottle of aspirin and was “losing consciousness” so now we know that she at least took the medication on purpose.

Duncan Roy, Producer and Director, cheerfully pointed out that if you really want to kill yourself, you “throw yourself under a train, you don’t take a bottle of aspirin.” He is concerned that Fantasia may have been set up, because “she’s not the best-looking girl in the world.” He hints of collusion between the wife and husband and says that Antwaun Cook could have done a lot better than Fantasia, calling him a “cute guy.” Can you believe that he said such a thing? We couldn’t.

April Woodard of BET couldn’t either. April said while it’s true that Fantasia is no beauty queen, Antwaun just ain’t all that. Jane Velez-Mitchell pointed out that he has a pretty good upper body. “OK, whatever,” April said “His face is mud.”

Mike Walters said he doesn’t see what how they look have to do with anything.

They then went into how the wife may be trying to cash in. Well, sure, if you are living in a state that allows you to sue someone for something they did and then someone comes along and does that thing that you can sue for, well — what would you do? You would sue them because the law allows you to sue them. Especially if they have “deep pockets.” You would want them to reach into those pockets and fork over some of that dough for what they did that injured you.

Everyone in NC must have heard about the Cynthia Shackleford verdict (the $9M Jilted Wife) earlier this year, including Paula Cook and Fantasia.

Fantasia is 26 so we’re not buying that she may be a victim of the old lie “my wife and I are separated.” If the ladies don’t check into that story, there is usually only one reason why. They don’t care if it’s true or not.

What we really want to know is how did Fantasia end up in the closet after they took her out of the shower?
