Eli Manning and Giants Triumph Ignored

You can’t spell elite without Eli…

Friday’s news coverage of last Thursday’s royal ass-kicking of the Carolina Panthers by the New York Giants (36 to 7) was all about poor Cam Newton. Nobody seemed to notice how the badly depleted Giants dominated the Panthers and how Eli Manning took Cam Newton to school and showed him how a real quarterback plays.

From the first possession, the Giants methodically marched up and down the field, despite missing key players, Ahmad Bradshaw at running back, and Hakeem Nicks at wide receiver. Despite these handicaps, the Carolina Panthers were helpless to stop the Giant’s onslaught. Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton, had no answer for the Giant’s tenacious defense. The Giants picked him off three times, forcing Cam to look quite depressed during his post-game news conference, which is what garnered most of the attention on ESPN and other sports news, much to the dismay of many Giants fans who believe the team flexed their muscles against great odds.

The Giants backups, Ramses Barden, wide receiver, and running back, Andre Brown, filling in for the lost starters, set career days. Barden had nine receptions for 138 yards. Andre Brown carried the ball 20 times for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns.
