Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas Signed to Five Year Deals

Today’s question: What is a top tier NFL wide receiver in the prime of his career worth? Answer: $70 million for five years. On July 15th, Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys and Demaryius Thomas of the Denver Broncos each signed five year contracts for $70 million.

Bryant, 26, caught 88 passes for 1320 yards and an NFL best 16 receiving touchdowns in 2014.

Thomas, 27, caught 111 passes for 1619 yards and 11 touchdowns. His receiving yards were second only to Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown, who had 1698.

Both Dallas and Denver are in it to win it, and made sure they had these key players under contract before training camp starts later this month. There is speculation that the amounts of these contracts may pave the way for new deals for Cincinnati’s A.C. Green and Atlanta’s Julio Jones, two other premier wide receivers who are nearing the end of their contracts.
