Colts’ Andrew Luck Sets Rookie Passing Record

We’re approximately halfway through the NFL season, and it’s turning out to be a good one for rookie quarterbacks.  Washington’s Robert Griffin III, Miami’s Ryan Tannehill, and Seattle’s Russell Wilson are all rookie starters who are making an impact.  Another rookie QB making an impact is the Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck.

Luck set an NFL record in the Colts’ 23-20 win over the Dolphins on November 4th.  He threw for 433 yards in the game, which breaks Cam Newton’s one year old record for most passing yards in a game by a rookie QB.  Luck also threw two touchdown passes in the game.

The Colts are now 5-3 on the season, and have a good shot at making the playoffs after being the worst team in the league last season, and a big part of that is due to the play of Luck.  The team took a lot of criticism in the off season for cutting times with Peyton Manning and drafting Luck with the first pick, but it looks like they knew what they were doing.
