Cissy Houston Appalled by Clive Davis Invitation

It is almost a year since singer Whitney Houston passed away in her bathtub, just hours before Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party she was planning to attend. The music mogul is hosting a pre-Grammy party again this year, and the late singer’s mother tells Access Hollywood that, shockingly, she was invited.

Cissy Houston was at the unveiling of four new wax statues of her daughter at Madame Tussaud’s in New York City last Thursday when he told Access: “I got an invitation to the party — which is the most obscene thing,” adding that she cannot begin to fathom why they would want her be at the very place where her daughter passed away. “Unheard of,” she exclaimed. She allowed that perhaps Clive Davis may have just sent her an invite “for remembrance sake.”

After the recent publication of her book, “Remembering Whitney“, Cissy came under fire from her own granddaughter, Whitney Houston’s only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown, who tweeted: “I find it 2b disrespect2mymother & me being her daughter won’t tolerate it.”

Cissy Houston also spoke about that to Access saying that she understands that her granddaughter is grieving, and will be there for her. Cissy said: “I wouldn’t say anything [bad] about my daughter. That’s MY daughter, whom I loved with all my heart.” Well, no, it wasn’t her daughter that she knocked — it was Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown.

Access Hollywood was also informed that although Cissy Houston will not be attending the pre-Grammy gala on Saturday, Whitney’s brother, Gary Houston and his wife Pat Houston, are going.
