Chynna Phillips: I Just Lost My Step

Chynna Phillips appeared on The View to talk to Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd with her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Chynna summed up her faux pas very simply: she lost her place and could not recover flawlessly, despite her partner’s support.

“I choose to look through the windshield and not through the rear view mirror,” Chynna said. “It’s like — I’m moving on.”

Chynna also talked about her group, Wilson-Phillips and how they are getting a reality show. “… yeah, we’re going to be out with a new record in March. It’s called “Dedicated” — it’s a Mamas and Papas / Beach Boys classics tribute record.

How ironic. How hilarious. It’s okay for rock star progeny to capitalize on their parents’ faded fame to be in the public eye, you know. They don’t really need to do that, since Chynna, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson actually had a couple of hits of their own.

Yet in the beginning of the show, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar heaped scorn on Traci Nobles, for writing an e-book, “I Freinded You” (we know, i before e, but that’s how it’s spelled) about the sexting between her and disgraced Congressman, Anthony Weiner. As to why she wanted to write this book, Traci said “Mainly, I was motivated by my need for clarity.”

“Who cares about you?” Joy said. “We don’t care about you. Who are you?” and called her a loser. LOL. So what? Who cares? If the book became an overnight sensation, Joy would probably have her on her talk show in a New York minute.

Anyway, don’t say it’s two entirely different things. In Chynna’s case, at least, it seems to us that she’s selling out her sister, Mackenzie, not just “protecting the Mamas and Papas legacy” (as Joy discussed with Mackenzie last February), but capitalizing on it.

Chynna and Tony then performed a dance to prove that Chynna could remember her steps.
