We were watching the news before and they were showing clips of this video where a woman begs New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to run for President. On the news, it was presented as if he IS considering running, but we watched the whole thing and, unless we’re nuts, he appears to be saying he is not feeling it.
But anyway, Rick Perry claimed he wasn’t running, too, and now he is. Last week, Perry put his foot in his mouth, calling people who are against subsidizing the college education of children of illegal immigrants “heartless.” Now Perry is backpedaling:
“I probably chose a poor word to explain that,” Mr. Perry said in the interview. “For people who don’t want their state to be giving tuition to illegal aliens, illegal immigrants in this country, that’s their call, and I respect that.”
On the flap, Chris Christie commented: “That’s not a heartless position. That’s a common sense position.”
We wonder if Christie would kick Perry’s ass if he decides to change his mind, but Nate Silver in the New York Times thinks Christie is more of a threat to Mitt Romney.
