Charles Barkley Does Not Like Statistics in Basketball

Former NBA star and current TNT basketball analyst Charles Barkley doesn’t think much of the current trend in the NBA of using statistics to help evaluate teams and players, declaring that “analytics is crap”. And don’t invite Sir Charles and Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, a proponent of analytics, to the same cocktail party.

On February 10th, Morey fired the opening salvo, tweeting that “the best part of being at a TNT game live is it is easy to avoid Charles spewing misinformed biased vitriol disguised as entertainment”. On TNT’s “Inside the NBA” Barkley fired back and in no uncertain terms:

Just Charles being Charles. And yes, his biased vitriol can be entertaining, even if it is a bit over the top at times.
