Cavaliers Team Chemistry Coming Together

It has taken awhile, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to live up their preseason expectations. The Cavaliers won for the ninth time in 10 games, beating the Los Angeles Lakers 120-105 in Cleveland on February 8th.

The Cavaliers (32-21) are now just a half game behind the Central Division leading Chicago Bulls, and have the fifth best record in the Eastern Conference. They are just a game behind having the third best record, and third seed in the playoffs. With two months to go in the regular season, Cleveland has a reasonable shot at passing Toronto (35-17) for the second seed in the East.

LeBron James has been trying to get the talented, but disparate members of the team to actually play like a team. He had some exchanges earlier in the season with guard Kyrie Irving, and recently tweeted that power forward Kevin Love should try to “fit in” more. Love, the other huge off season pickup after James, responded with a season high 32 points, including 7 three pointers, and 10 rebounds. Irving had 28 points and had 10 assists, after not passing the ball very much earlier in the season to the dismay of James. Speaking of James, he had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. The Cavaliers have gone from underachievers to a team worth watching down the stretch.
