Cassel, Charles, and Bowe is not a law firm. Quarterback Matt Cassel, running back Jamaal Charles, and wide receiver Dwayne Bow are the leading weapons for the Kansas City Chiefs offense. The Chiefs beat the Seattle Seahawks 42-24 November 28th, and Matt Cassel threw four touchdown passes in the game, three of which were caught by Dwayne Bowe. Bowe had 13 receptions for 170 yards. Jamaal Charles rushed 22 times for 173 yards and one touchdown. The victory kept the Kansas City Chiefs (7-4) in first place in the AFC West, one game ahead of the 6-5 San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs had fallen on hard times in recent years, but with performances like this, they are being taken seriously again.
After Week 12 of the 2010 NFL season, Dwayne Bowe leads the league in touchdown receptions with 14. Matt Cassel has 22 touchdown passes, the same number as Peyton Manning, and is one behind the four league leaders who each have 23: Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, and Phillip Rivers. Pretty good company there. Cassel has only been intercepted 4 times so far, too. Jamaal Charles is second in the league in rushing yards with 1021.
Barring some sort of catastrophic collapse, the Chiefs are on target for their first winning season since they went 9-7 in 2006. They were 4-12, 2-14, and 4-12 again since then. The Chiefs best shot at the playoffs is to win their division; there are second place teams in the other divisions with better records, making it more difficult to grab a wild card slot. But if they can hold off the hard charging Chargers, the Chiefs will earn their first post season appearance since 2006.
