Carey Price is Big Winner at NHL Post Season Awards

Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price capped his big 2014-15 season by winning three awards at the NHL’s post season awards show June 24th in Las Vegas. Price won the Hart Trophy (awarded to the player deemed most valuable to his team as voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers Association members), the Vezina Trophy (best goalie, voted by NHL general managers), and the Ted Lindsey Award (the league’s best player as voted on by the NHL players).

Price did indeed have a heck of a year. He was 44-16-6 with a 1.96 goals against average and a .933 save percentage. He led the league in all three categories. At 27, Price should have many more great seasons in front of him.

Speaking of Las Vegas, the NHL Board of Governors is allowing interested cities to submit applications for expansion franchises. This is a preliminary step and the league says there are no guarantees that teams will be added, but Las Vegas reportedly has an ownership group interested. Seattle and Quebec City are also interested.
