Bret Michaels Marrying Kristi Gibson

Poison frontman, Bret Michaels proposed marriage to his long-time gal, Kristi Gibson, during the finale of his VH-1 reality show “Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.”

The couple have been together for 16 years already and are the parents of two girls, Raine and Jorja. Both of his daughters were born in the month of May, Raine in 2000 and Jorja in 2005.

Bret got down on bended knee and told Kristi: “I want you to know that I love you and you’ve been unbelievably a big part of my life and we have two beautiful girls together. I know we love and respect each other and I hope we can find that inner love that we can have forever. I want you to be my wife.”

After Kristi made sure that he was serious, Bret said: “Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now.” Kristi accepted and they gathered up the kiddies to announce the good news.

It’s been a year of extreme ups and downs for the singer and reality show star. In April, Bret Michaels was the victim of a near-fatal brain hemorrhage and expectations for his survival were grim indeed. But the glam rocker bounced back only to have what the doctors called a “warning stroke.” Tests revealed that he had a hole in his heart, a condition called a patent foramen ovale, and he is now scheduled to go back into the hospital to undergo heart surgery to repair this problem.

None of this even slowed down the indomitable performer who made a surprise appearance on American Idol after his release from the hospital, much to horror of his doctors but to the delight of his fans and Idol’s 3rd runner up in Season 9, Casey James, who got to perform with Bret.
