Bon Jovi’s Mansion Robbed

A 21 year old New Jersey man has been charged with burglarizing several homes of wealthy residents in the ritzy Rumson area, and one of those ‘spensive homes happened to belong to rocker, Jon Bon Jovi. This should give you an idea of how expensive it is:

Police found Nicholas J. Tracy, of Beachwood NJ, hiding in a bathroom at another home on Navesink River Road that he broke into and was divesting of its treasures, after he tripped the burglar alarm. The officers arrested Tracy and a later investigation conducted by Middletown detectives, William Strohkirch and Peter White, revealed enough evidence to charge Tracy with the burglary at Bon Jovi’s 15-acre $22.25 million dollar estate. The theft at the “Living on a Prayer” hitmaker’s home occurred on April 3, when jewelry belonging to Bon Jovi’s wife, Dorothea Bongiovi, was stolen. The trinkets were valued at $100,000, according to documents.

Tracy was also accused of two other burglaries: breaking into the $7.66 million dollar home of former Chief Operating Officer of American Eagle Outfitters, George Kolber, on March 14, and making off with $103,912 worth of jewelry; and he also got blamed for the April 1st burglary of the $2.49 million dollar home of Little Silver ophthalmologist, Martin Uram, where jewelry worth $300,000 in jewelry was stolen.

Now Nicholas Tracy is sitting in the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Twp., and will probably remain there until his trial on 4 counts of third-degree burglary and 3 counts of second-degree theft. The judge set bail at $100,000, but there’s no option to post 10 percent.

Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger stated to the press that the police investigation revealed no prior connection between Tracy and the properties, so the jewelry snatcher somehow managed to know when nobody was home, how to get in and where the jewelry was all on his lonesome.
