Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus Split

Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for a divorce from his wife, Tish. The couple have been married for almost 18 years.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer was married to Cindy Smith, for about 5 years. They co-wrote several songs together which appeared on his debut album “Some Gave All.”

He married Leticia “Tish” Finley on December 28, 1992 (against his record company’s advice, according to Billy Ray). Tish has two children from a prior marriage, Trace and Brandi. Billy adopted them. Billy and Tish have 3 children together, Miley, Noah and Braison.

The couple made a statement to People magazine today, saying: “As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family… We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”

Well, yes we can imagine, but we’re not going to speculate on the cause of the rift. It’s really kind of sad when two people have been together that long because there had to be a real commitment to make it last that long.
