Beyonce Wows At Halftime

Beyonce Knowles briefly reunited with former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as part of her half-time performance at Super Bowl XLVII in a performance that is being called “stunning” and “awesome” by her legion of fans and if you didn’t like it, your reasons why are irrelevant because it means you’re just a hater.

Quite seriously, the fact is if you don’t like her music and oodles of suggestive dancing, you probably would not like her no matter where she performs, but no one can say that she didn’t give it her all and put on a dazzling set. Comparisons have already been made to Madonna’s performance last year, but we feel that such comparisons are unfair, because it’s a matter of music tastes. If you like Madonna’s music better, you would naturally like her performance more, and vice versa so it’s not right to call someone a hater if they don’t like the same type of music as you.

Beyonce began to sing in the dark and when the light came on, she sang solo and aggressively strutted her stuff for about 7 minutes when Rowland and Williams emerged from below the stage, each dressed to complement Beyonce’s skimpy outfit. Rowland had one on pretty much just as skimpy but Williams had one with a short skirt. The girl performed just a little bit of “Bootylicious” and “Independent Women.” Then Beyonce sang by herself and recalled them to help her sing “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”

In the aftermath of all the raised eyebrows over her performance to a backing track at President Obama’s inauguration, Beyonce previously made it clear at a press conference that she would be doing this one plain old live.

The 31-year-old singer did not get make millions off her appearance as some people we asked seemed to think. Actually, she wasn’t paid a penny for her performance. A spokesman for the NFL told Yahoo Music that they don’t pay anyone for their performance. They only cover all expenses associated with the performance, which can add up to quite a bit because that includes travel, lodging, setup, fees for backup dancers and musicians.
