Ashton Kutcher on Daughter Wyatt Isabelle

Ashton Kutcher talked to Conan O’Brien about the name that he and Mila Kunis agreed upon for their infant daughter, who was born on September 30, 2014.

Kutcher said the couple had another name in mind, although he did not reveal it, but Mila Kunis decided she wasn’t happy with that choice. Ultimately when he suggested Wyatt, she was immediately taken with the name and they chose Isabelle as a female form of Mila’s grandfather’s name Itzhak.

Yes, Wyatt is generally a boy’s name and the girls aren’t anywhere near taking over that one. In 2013, 16 baby girls and 8,490 baby boys were named Wyatt. Isabelle was the 115th most popular first name for girls in the USA in 2013. The Social Security Administration doesn’t have any statistics on that particular spelling for boys, but does list 7 boys named Isabel and 18 named Isabella in 2013.
