Against the Wall: Obsessed and Unwanted (S1, EP6)

“Obsessed and Unwanted,” the 6th episode of Season One of “Against the Wall” opens with a woman walking through a deserted parking lot. She falls, dropping the file in her hand and we see a photo of Mike Fletcher (Shaun Benson). She painfully gets up, brushes herself off and finds a bunch of flowers strewn all over the front of her car. She sweeps them off and there’s also a photo of herself in the shower stuck in the windshield.

Then Abby (Rachael Carpani) is in a bar with her brother, Richie (Brandon Quinn). He’s getting pretty loaded. Danny Mitchell (Chris Johnson) pops in to announce he has just become the new Assistant State’s Attorney. Abby leaves and Danny later brings Richie over her house, totally plastered. “Abby, Danny is perfect for you,” Richie rambles, “He went to college and you went to college. He’s a Bears’ fan and you’re a Bears’ fan …” Abby puts her hand over his mouth and he falls asleep.

Later at work a kid, Ryan Spencer (Dylan Minnette), comes in to tell Abby and Lina that a police officer is stalking his mother, Trish Alexander (Natalie Brown), the District shrink — none other than the lady in the parking lot. He has to report the officer because his mother would be violating the HIPAA Law if she reported it. The suspect is … Bingo — Mike Fletcher.

Richie’s new partner is an old family friend, Aunt Edie, a courtesy aunt (Lorraine Toussaint). Law & Order buffs know her as feisty attorney, Shambala Green. Richie won’t tell her what happened with Brody, whom we never see this entire episode. Instead Abby and Dan cozy up after looking at pictures of his dog, Cosmo, taking a bath. Always a great turn on. But things don’t go too far because Richie walks in on them.

But c’mon … is that it? Is Brody just going to fade into the sunset? Who would the viewers rather see Abby with, Dan or Brody? We don’t know what you think, but going by onscreen chemistry, we’d have to vote for Brody.

What else? The shrink and Aunt Edie are doing illegal things, but Abby and Lina will look the other way or give a little warning if it’s someone they don’t want to see get in trouble. That’s good, because Richie almost ends up shooting a suspect again and Aunt Edie’s got his back. We also find out Richie is married and his wife Laura (Angela Galupo) is upset because Richie just told her he doesn’t want kids. The timing couldn’t be better — she’s pregnant.

Back to the stalking situation, Trish Alexander ends up being shot. They investigate and Lina finds herself in a pretty sticky situation in the parking lot. Trish wakes up and is able to tell who shot her.

“Against the Wall” will be back in 2 weeks with a Kowalski family secret.
