A Great Day for Dallas Fans

Dallas (2012) has been renewed! TNT announced today that the series will return for a third season and the network is sticking with the good old winter premiere. TNT has ordered 15 episodes for Season 3 and the show will return in early 2014.

“Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations,” said TNT, TBS and TCM president and head of programming Michael Wright. “Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.’s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted.”

With sagging ratings for Season 2 (about half of what Season 1 got) and the death of Larry Hagman on November 23, 2012, fans were really afraid that the show would be cancelled.

As much as Dallas fans will mourn the passing of Larry Hagman and his legendary character, J.R. Ewing, there are still many plots and storylines to unfold. Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (the inimitable Sue Ellen) have their own steadfast fanbase, but many fans say they can’t wait to see John Ross (Josh Henderson) pick up where his daddy left off.

And the way the Season 2 finale ended, they sure won’t have long to wait now! Josh Henderson tweeted: Welcome back is right. For #season3 ! 🙂 #Dallas #itsofficial accompanied by this photo:
